Children Visual Function Assessment

Efficient visual system of children is crucial for their holistic development. Inadequacies in children’s visual function would affect their abilities to learn, self-esteem and their interests. We are not born with all the visual skills (focusing ability, visual tracking, depth perception, binocular vision and eyehand coordination), it was developed through the various visual experiences we had from our childhood. Just like any other areas of children development, they develop in different rate (e.g. some kids learn how to talk or walk faster than others). If some children could not develop their visual skills up to the age-appropriate level, prompt diagnosis and treatment will be necessary.
