Dr. Sa is an experienced Developmental and Behavioural Optometrist for over 20 years. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in optometry at the University of Melbourne, followed by a postgraduate degree in behavioural optometry from the University of New South Wales. Upon returning to Hong Kong, he furthered his education and earned a Doctor of Health Science (Optometry) degree. He is one of the pioneers in promoting paediatric visual development and researching vision-related learning difficulties in Hong Kong. He adopts a developmental and behavioural optometric approach to provide holistic management for children, adolescents and their families. His doctorate thesis focused on paediatric’s visual function and the efficacy of vision therapy. Dr. Sa has pursued advanced studies in various professional domains, including child development, cognitive psychology and education. 


In addition to managing visual functional problems (including amblyopia, strabismus, heterophoria, myopia control, etc.), Dr. Sa has also been assessing and managing children with specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc.) and population with special needs (including ASD, ADHD, developmental delay and cerebral palsy). He collaborates with SEN teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other healthcare professionals in both private and public sectors in managing patients with visual problems. 


Apart from clinical work, Dr. Sa had served as a visiting clinical associate and supervisor for the paediatric clinic at the School of Optometry at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong for over 10 years. He has conducted numerous vision seminars for schools, professionals, corporates and health organisations in order to raise the awareness of children's eye care.
